BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police detectives are investigating an assault that occurred early Tuesday.
The incident took place about 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of Sandy and Homestead lanes, police said.
The victim, who was walking along Sandy Lane when the assault occurred, was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and later released, police spokesman Major Jay Purcell said.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
"We are following up on some leads," Purcell said Thursday, but declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation.
