DANBURY -- Danbury's Got Talent was to kick off its second season Saturday with a Latin concert at Ives Concert Park. Bethel resident Al Vargas said he had to cancel the June 9 concert due to a family member's medical situation, but the talent contest will go on.
Danbury's Got Talent is a yearlong competition in various categories, from singing and dancing to comedy and artistry. For more details, email Vargas at dgt@alvargas.com. For concert ticket refunds, he said he can also be reached at 203-312-7376.
Saturday's concert had been set to feature SonSublime, Grammy-winner Chino Nuñez and his orchestra, and Pablito y su Avalancha.
Though those groups won't be performing Latin music in Danbury this weekend, there will be a big concert Tuesday, when Ives Concert Park opens its summer season with the Counting Crows's "Outlaw Roadshow" at 7 p.m.
Three other bands will also perform: Good Old War, Fillagar, and Foreign Fields. Tickets are $35 to $60. Call 866-558-4253 or visit www.premierboxoffice.com.
